Book Talk with authors of Tech Tonics

It was a fun evening moderating a NYC Health Business Leaders book event on May 7, 2014 featuring Silicon Valley-based digital health experts Lisa Suennen and David Shaywitz. The well-known and highly respected duo joined forces to write Tech Tonics: Can Passionate Entrepreneurs Heal Healthcare with Technology? The book is a distillation of their writing and thinking about digital health and where these fields may be headed, including a ground-level view of the technology landscape, its structural challenges, players, progress and pitfalls.

During the packed event held at Lenox Hill Hospital, Lisa and David each read a favorite passage from the book and we quizzed them on issues ranging from the defining characteristics of a digital health company to her skepticism on wearables to what keeps digital health firms from scaling.
