HBS Healthcare Alumni Association Celebrates 25 Years
In 1997, I had a wild idea to start an association for healthcare alumni at Harvard Business School, my alma mater. It had never been done before (convening an industry-specific group), but I was determined to do it knowing how many incredible leaders have come out of the school and made a difference in the industry. Along with a fantastic group of alumni, we launched the HBS Healthcare Alumni Association in 1999. We had no idea how long a volunteer-led club would last but we were excited to work together to make it a reality. A quarter century later, it's become an institution thanks to many alumni leaders along the way who have worked tirelessly to ensure its success.
In early November 2024, I got to celebrate a milestone - the 25th anniversary of the HBS Healthcare Alumni Association. And what an incredible privilege to give the Ellerin Achievement Award to Sir Andrew Witty, CEO of UnitedHealth Group. His knowledge of healthcare and what it will take to make real progress mesmerized the audience as did his passion for change.
